Google on the big screen?

This article was posted by Theater Website Services on: 19 09 06 - 09:56

An interesting article/ blog entry I found this morning - click here to read it - I thought was rather interesting. The possibility of Google giving away free movie tickets for advertising on big screens is the proposed idea. Now, I'm not 100% sure this is a viable option, but it does bring up some interesting ideas to be explored.

What if we did start bringing back intermissions, especially now that most big movies are 2Hr 30mins + - I know that I would enjoy the opportunity to use the little boy's room, and get a possible free refill on my Pepsi while I buy another bag of candy. And then, why sell the advertising space to Google and allow them to give away free tickets, why not supply your own advertising clients on your own screens, and use part of that advertising revenue to give away 10 free tickets per movie, get people to sign-up on your website for a chance to "win" a free ticket courtesy of "Big Bob's Burgers" (the main advertiser before and during the movie) - it would cost you nothing, increase concession sales, a better movie experience for patrons, happier advertisers, and a bunch load of hits and valuable email addresses and information from website entries - everyone's a winner!

Who's with me on this? I think it would work!
