In a World......

This article was posted by Theater Website Services on: 05 09 08 - 19:07

OK.. so I have decided that I will attempt to post a new blog entry every Friday (when schedule permits) so that I can fill you all in on stuff I have read about this week on various sites etc.

LipsSo, let's start the ball rolling with this great article about the fact that the V&A in London, has purchased the Rolling Stones Tongue Logo for $92,500!!!!!!!!! Yup you heard me right, now bare in mind that anyone looking for a great logo identity can get one for far less, but really, it is a very well known logo mark, and has stood the test of time for decades. You can read about it all here by following this link - here is the link!

Next up google released their new Chrome browser for Windows users.......

Google Chromeunfortunately not available for anything else quite yet (rumors are within a few weeks for mac and linux) - Google released the new browser on Tuesday of this week and immediately all google geeks worldwide stormed their site for the public BETA version. All was looking great for the goliath until reports surfaced that the EULA (the normally huge scrolling text you receive when trying to install an application that no-one ever reads) contained the following:

"Any Content which you submit, post or display on or through" the browser belongs to Google.

WHAT!? It turns out however that this is not the case - that it was an old EULA that had been copied and pasted from another application, and that google doesn't do this with Chrome.

You can download Google Chrome by following this link -  here is the link!

Don LaFontaineNext up - you know the  Geico ads, with that "movie announcer guy" - well that "guy" was Don LaFontaine, and unfortunately Don passed away on Monday, at the age of 68. Don was so busy that he employed a full-time chauffer to go from one job to another. If you would like to read some more about this great guy you can - here is the link!

On a final note about Don, I can't wait (is that the correct way of saying this without being morbid or testing my luck) to get to Heaven to find Don being the announcer as people step through the gates... dude you rocked the words "In a World..."

Microsoft attempt at advertisingOK, so anyone else hear about the upcoming Microsoft ads that are featuring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld!? Well rumors were true and the first one is leaked out on Youtube.com - can't say I really "get it" - I mean at times it's funny - but has it really come down to Microsoft having to basically use their old - now retired - CEO and a comedian who hasn't had a show for almost 10 years now (and used macs heavily on his show) to basically talk about shoes? Where is the product man.... I dunno guess I'm outta touch, or maybe that's Microsoft. You can view the video commercial on Youtube.com by following the link - here is the link!

Ratting DogEveryone meet Oscar - Oscar has a great appetite, over the past few months, his owner, Chris Morrison has been walking him around their local golf course Pitreavie in Dunfermline, Scotland. Chris discovered that Oscar was recently producing rattling sounds from his stomach and this resulted in a trip to the vets, and 13 golf balls the richer! You can read the story by following the link to the BBC website in England - here is the link!

Weather - well the weather has been simply "bloody hot" here in Ohio this week - you know that 96 degree weather but with humidity it's like 120! YUK! And it was the start of soccer games (which I coach 2 teams - my wife 1 team and my eldest daughter 1 team) so it was NOT pleasant and resulted in kids getting hot, sweaty and tired due to excercise - do kids still do that!? I guess so - anyways, good news was my team of 9U won their first game! Yaya for us!

OK, that's a brief one this week as most of the week I have been working so hard I haven't magaed to surf much - if you've got interesting things, go ahead and post in the comments section!
